I wasn’t always into health and fitness. Because I was “skinny” I thought that meant I was “in shape” or healthy.
In 2010 I was looking for a way to meet other moms and found a free Run Clinic for women in our town. I was so nervous and scared, but I stepped out of my comfort zone and joined….. and there my love affair for running began.
In 2012, I ran my first half marathon (pregnant with my daughter), but it wasn’t until 2015 that I was training to run a full marathon that I realized although I was “in shape” and I could run countless amounts of miles that I really wasn’t living a healthy lifestyle. I was fueling myself with junk foods, over training, and not adding any other type of exercise to my routine. It was then that I decided to get my Personal Training Certification and Health and Wellness Consultant Certification just so I could teach myself more about muscle mechanics and how to fuel my body. That is when I learned that cross training was extremely important and could help prevent injuries.
Looking online for a low impact exercise that I could add to my workout regimen I stumbled upon Barre. Barre exercises focus on alignment, building core strength, and moves that strengthens every area of your legs and glutes. I started using what I had learned to train friends in my garage home gym. What started out as a hobby for me turned into my dream job!
In 2017 I decided to step out of my comfort zone and built and opened Advanced Nutrition Training Studio, sister company to my husbands store, Advanced Nutrition. I wanted to open my training studio to create an environment for women of all shapes, sizes, and walks of life to workout in and feel comfortable. It was the best decision I’ve ever made!
I love teaching others how to improve their lives with fitness!
Like many other health and fitness professionals I recently have made the leap into online training. It has been a blessing.
